BCS Group operates under licenses in eight African countries including Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo,Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda,Zambia and Zimbabwe. Additionally, we provide services at the border points for other countries such as Botswana, Burundi, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Namibia, Republic of Congo, South Africa, South Sudan and Tanzania.
BCS Group owns one of the biggest terrestrial
fiber networks in Africa.
Our network spans from the East Coast of Africa connecting to multiple submarine cables through Mombasa in Kenya and extends to the West Coast of Africa through Muanda in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Luanda in Angola, providing capacity to land locked countries in the continent as well as ensuring network redundancy to our customers in the event of unplanned network outage.
BCS Group also leases additional bandwidth to provide seamless backhaul connectivity and redundancy to the region’s telecom operators and Internet Service Providers. Since 2014, BCS Group has leveraged its terrestrial and submarine fiber construction expertise majorly in the Eastern, Central and Southern Africa and owns over 10,000 km of own build fiber network.
By virtue of operating its own network infrastructure, BCS Group has access to near-unlimited bandwidth with which to serve its growing customer base. BCS Group’s management estimates that the Group’s network carries one-third of the internet capacity in each of Rwanda, South Sudan and Uganda, measured by traffic volume. Our customers in these markets account for two-thirds of data subscribers and they use our services for about half of their capacity needs
